Missing Man Found Dead In NJ Woods, Police Confirm (Update)

A body found during a search for a missing man over the weekend has been positively identified, police in Hamilton Township (Atlantic County) said.

A search for Pleasantville's Tracy Faulkner II, 33, found his body in a wooded area along Harbor Avenue in Mays Landing around 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28, township police confirmed.

"During the search, an unidentified deceased male was located and the scene was immediately secured by Township of Hamilton Police, who were on location," police said.

"All volunteers were escorted out of the woods and additional law enforcement personnel from the Township of Hamilton Police Department, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded for further investigation."

A Facebook page dedicated to finding Faulkner on Sunday afternoon said they'd found a body but it hadn't yet been identified.

Faulkner had last been seen on Dec. 5, 2023, in Mays Landing. Circumstances around his death have not been publicly announced. Police said only that the incident remains under investigation pending the autopsy findings and toxicology results.
